SEVENTY-SEVEN/ summer festivals

This winter has been long and hard for most of us in North America and one of the sure signs that summer is on its way is that festivals all over Canada and the US release their lineups. Like I've said many many times, seeing live music is probably my favourite thing in the world to do and going to music festivals is always the highlight of my summer. I've been to Osheaga a handful of times, I've traveled to Toronto for outdoor shows and festivals and I've been going to local festivals ever since I can remember. This year I'm going to have a hard choice to make.

A lot of the festivals in both Canada and The US are so appealing to me. Right now my heart is set on Amnesia Rock Fest (which is only about an hour away from where I live) but who knows where I'll actually end up. Ottawa's biggest festival, Bluesfest, has yet to release their lineup so I'm crossing my fingers that it has a good mix of artists I'm excited to see.

I've been daydreaming of all of the festivals mentioned below, and then some, for quite some time. I'm really excited to see what summer 2014 has in store for me. I've even flirted with the idea of going to some festivals down in the United States, although I would have to go to those alone seeing as barely anyone I know has a passport. That has the potential to be such a great adventure and I would have the ability to meet such a great people.

Below are some lineups that I'm most excited for. Are any of you going to any music festivals this summer? Are there any exciting ones that I don't know about? Will I see any of you at any of these? (If so, come and say hi!)

Amnesia Rockfest (Montebello, Quebec), Osheaga (Montreal, Quebec)
OVO Fest (Toronto, Ontario), Boston Calling (Boston, Massachusetts, USA)
Firefly Music Festival (Dover, Delaware, USA)
