THIRTY-EIGHT/ my closet

I'll be the first to admit that I have a bit of an obsessive compulsion when it comes to my closet. (and in a lot of other aspects of my life too, whatever) All of my tops are sorted by colour and are even sorted within colour groups by sleeve length. All of my blouses and shirts are hanging on one side of my closet, and all of my blazers, cardigans and dresses are hanging on the other side. All of my bottoms are folded above into piles and are broken down into categories. I have my black leggings, my jeans, my colourful / printed pants / shorter skirts and then all of my maxi skirts. My pants are not colour coordinated but they are stacked in order of use. The ones I wear the most are at the top, and the ones I rarely wear are at the bottom. All of my hangers have to be the exact same (I cannot stress this enough) and I even have an air freshener hanging in my closet that smells like "clean cotton" (aka laundry detergent). The Holt Renfrew bag pictured below is home to many of my scarves and I keep some shoes and purses I rarely use in my closet as well.

As you can probably tell, having a well organized closet is very important to me. I can't stand when things go missing and in all honesty - I like to sleep in. I can't spare a second in the morning looking for certain pieces of clothing. It's kind of a blessing and a curse, though. My obsession is not only with how my closet is organized but it has a great deal to do with the pieces of clothing as well. Although my closet is clean, I find myself getting rid of perfectly good items. I go through my closet at least once a month and toss / donate / consign any items that don't fit the aesthetic of my closet. In rare cases I'll hang on to items that I know I will never wear just because I like the idea of them. Am I insane? Does anybody else have this problem? I'm the opposite of a hoarder when it comes to my clothing and I have absolutely no guilt over getting rid of pieces of clothing, even if I do have a use for them. It's a very strange and vicious cycle, and I'm not quite sure how to break from it.

As for the items hanging in the closet itself, there's a whole range of brands. A lot of it is secondhand, from either thrift or consignment shops, there's a lot from Forever 21 and Old Navy as well. I also have a good amount from The Bay and random online stores.
